Health Promotion
- Organizing disability assessment camps with the support of Government
- Organizing dental, eye and other medical camps with the support of govt, NGOs and VOs
- Referral services to therapy, ADLS and other medical interventions
- Enabling disabled persons avail suitable devices for their disability
- Identifying and enrolling PWMI, epilepsy patients for their treatment and recovery
- Forming and effectively running Carers Groups for their and for the cared individualβs well being
- Assessing, supporting and facilitating CWDs with high support needs with the help of professionals and SSA.
Facilitation Support
- Facilitation support to access disability ID card, rehabilitative measures, aids/appliances, Govt. entitlements, welfare schemes to get Educational scholarship for PWDs (higher studies)
- Collection of data about DPO Members who are need of aids and appliances and contact different sources (Govt. Departments, Lions, Rotary, NGOs, Well wishers,)
- Guiding disabled persons avail welfare and other schemes through Monday Grievance Programs and other special GDPs
Livelihood Promotion:
- Arranging skill training, job placements and support for self employment activities
- Explore other opportunities and arrange skill training (e.g., cell phone repair) and job placements
- Facilitate PWDs/DPOs to get financial support from banks and Govt. departments
- Credit support to PWDs to start new business and expand business from the federation revolving fund
Legal & Counselling support
- Legal support for PWDs β addressing the violation of human Rights
- Organising Suyamvaram (Matrimonial) programme in collaboration with State level DPO Network
- Intervene to solve the family disputes, Marital Problems among PWD families with the help of IRCDS family counselor, police stations and lawyers
DPO Promotion
- Organizing PWDs as DPOs
- Organizing Carers as Carers Support Groups
- Capacity building programmes for DPO leaders
- Provide hand book on DPOs
- Promoting Volunteers in the villages
Advocacy & Lobbying
- Endorsing voices for protecting the rights of PWDs
- Orientation given to GP Presidents on disability Rights.
- Collect information on accessibility β public buildings, railway stations, toilets in bus stands, worship places, buses and memorandum submitted - as a result of advocacy at state level along with other NGOs / DPOs State Govt. issued order for barrier free environment
- Conduct Press meet periodically
- Observe World Disabled Day by inviting Govt. Officials, Bankers & local well wishers
- Advocacy lobbying at Block & District level
- Highlight the State level issues of PWDs through State level DPO Networks
